Is This is What Being a KTM/BMW owner or Adventure Riders all about?

Below are conversation extracted from my Facebook post which consist of a picture of LWR & LWR book cover..

Ivan Slowee I have the video if you want... bring pen drive when we meet next.

Ming Fea Thanks, I got the vids too.. and also BAM 1 & 2..
Raymond Chan Do u hv LWD KTM's version??
Ming Fea Wait for you to star in KTM version of LLW-anywhere la.. i got the book of Boorman doing the Dakar thou.. if u want..
Ming Fea And also the part where Boorman and Ewan Tiu-ing KTM in the LWR clip.. if u want that too..
Sai Weng That was the best part of

Ivan Slowee Raymond... did you see the part where Boorman rip out the wall posted of KTM???

" How dare they say we will fail??"

                             KTM... biggest marketing mistake !!

Raymond Chan ivan, i must make a copy from u, i mis that part….
                             Ivan Slowee That's from LWR..

Terry Teh I still prefer LWR... Not as commercial...
                             Ming Fea agreed..

Raymond Chan i've seen that part from youtube LWR, tis might be the bmw's marketing gimmick...to goreng KTM...haha
Raymond Chan anyway, i love the two bikes, KTM saved me more...$$

Ivan Slowee Yes yes buy buy buy

Raymond Chan I think, all of us shud agree…….that BMW’s Market intelligence
Is much more superior than KTM….

Ivan Slowee Raymond is more like - same same but different !
Ding See Hock Marketing hype doesnt make bmw bikes better than ktms. If you guys think Boorman & Mcgregor had really done it all, you are gravely ignorant of real rides out there. And even on a fraction of Bam trans siberia highways ie. the road of bones..., that too boorman made the decision to put the gsa on truck. That speaks a lot of a real enduro rider. Did u know there was a vitim river crossing that is 700 meters long and 6 feet wide with really deep running river that a slip will spell the doom of you? That too was not in LWR...so LWR, LWD are merely shallow commercial hype.

For a start have a look at joe pichler's website....watch & be humbled.

Ming Fea Ignorance? Arrogance? That's not important. What we have here is simply TALK COCK, not being one..

Ding See Hock Just becos someone dismiss your statement as shallow & devoid of substance doesnt make that person a cock either. stop calling names and come up with some real stuffs instead if you can.
Ming Fea Thanks for joining the TC session and sharing the website, here's mine:
                             From wiktionary.org
                             Verb
                             talk cock
                             1. (Singapore) To talk nonsense or engage in idle chatter.
                             ...-------------
                             From www.urbandictionary.com
                             cock
An extremely over-confident male who acts like he knows everthing just because he THINKS he has a lot in the pants... the type of guy who never gets any.
Ding See Hock you shd add anor one category to it....a small dick-headed male that thought the world of himself with his limited knowledge and his shallow toys! go own a real bike and do some real riding first before you talk about biking. that is the least you can do from not being looked at in the embarrassing form that you are in now!

Terry Teh that wat i hate abt Politics... make something out of a small thing...
                             Enuf la u... sigh!!!

Hurricanemax Joko proven right NOT to join armchair & mouse bikers' chat...hahahaha.

                             Ding See Hock kakakakaka!

Terry Teh den go back to the saddle where u belong... kakakaka
                             peace bro...

Ding See Hock Never plan to stick around here too Terry, just passing by and saw a sore thumb sticking up my sight. Thats all. Nothing personal and my apology to you if you feel offended by what I have to say about your friend. But above all no malice in...tended.

Boorman & Mcgregor's feats are like child's play compared to veteran biking adventurer out there....you know why KTM refused to sponsor them in the 1st place? becos they are not real bikers...need a load-full of support vehicle to travel??? and KTM is of the view that such sissies riding their bikes may give negative publicity. BMW then jump in but that is becos BMW have nothing to lose....they have been selling cars all the while anyway and needed some boost to their motorrad sections...if not racers at least general public. But KTM have been and still is dominating the Dakar rallies for more than a decade now and sells only bikes.

And do you know Joe Pichler is the official KTM world wide sponsored adventure rider who is always riding solo? Having followed all ride reports by these real bikers for years, I feel the least I can do is to propagate some justice to these great efforts whenever I can.

Guys, spend some time researching real stuffs at ADV Rider.com...follow the great feats by Walter Colebatch, Sambor1965 & MetalJockey....and at least the China feats by my friend Franki Yang. The dark age of rumour mongering shd be a thing of the past....learn & be humbled my fellow bikers. After all life is all about having the correct perspective isnt it?
Ding See Hock Having said so much.....I still love my GS for whatever limitations it has...my nick is after all GSForLife! kakakaka.
Terry Teh Well... E & C maybe sissies to u... But they had the guts and resources to do it.. And, u rightly claimed "they are NOT bikers", make them even more successful.

There are plenty of real adventure riders out there who doesn't have it big as t...hem... But that doesn't give any of us any rights to criticize any of them...

If any child adores Mickey Mouse instead of Hercules, it doesn't means the kid is a sissy!!

My personal opinion la ya... Peace...
Ding See Hock If one cannot take or defend a point of view, dont start a thread to evaluate matters one may not be prepared to take what may come.

To each its own...a child's play is as significant as it is to a child...so dont compare it with adult stuff...s....LWR, LWD??? a GS versus LC8? At least know your stuff if you want to make a comparison.

How much offroad have you done b4 Terry? Did you wade a river that is 2-3 feet deep and with current? Alex Wong had ridden from Ushuaia to Alaska for 67 days (irrc)...perhaps you shd get your fren to buy him tea and listen to his tale rather than impose his godly views having bought some books off the shelf.

If you go to ADV Rider.Com, look at regional postings, Malaysia ride report is as pathetic as your friend is...I wonder why.

Anyway, I am out of here. Enough had been said and good day all.

Terry Teh Wakaka... Ding ding... Why r u questioning my riding skills? For info, I had my fair share of offroads, mud river camping etc.

A few offroad excursion on GSA doesn't give anyone rights to question another's rider's skill.

Glad u r out of this... thread... Now GO do yr dream adventure instead of using other ppl's experience as example!!! Or surf more Adv Rider to get ideas... Rolling.....
                             :)

Ming Fea From a Non-bike owner: Kudos to all adventurer/traveller (on foot/on bike, local/foreign, laymen/celeb, with support or not). Such experience/info are very much appreciated in form of books, vids, telltale over coffee table or FB - but, not ...enough for one to start kiss ass and buy teh tarik to stranger..
Anyhow, other's 'Insightful' opinion are always welcome even if it's comment taken from some forum, info from other website, or experience of others.

As for Defend? Thread? Evaluate? - It's just a few friends sharing some joke over books/vids in FB. There are no serious discussion/debate/idolizing over any person or machine..
If bike enthusiast are not entitle to enjoy the topic relating motorcycle with bike owners, does that mean regular bike-owner should not enjoy/comment on MotoGP/Dakar/MX and other races? Especially neither you nor your bike were seen on the grid with the real professional rider.

If being Non-biker is being pathetic, then what about the 'REAL' biker who's rather spending his time preaching on someone else's nonsense/off topic chit-chat session instead of riding or giving his valuable point at some related forum?

TT - Not much of Mickey nor Hercules fan, but used to like CN's Chicken & Cow - unfortunately, might not like it anymore as 'seeing' too much Cock talk and Bullshit for one day..

Terry Teh Fea: I like Sponge Bob Square Pants!!!

Ming Fea hahaha.... should set one Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon session then.. Purely being innocent/playful. Only fruit juice and candy are allowed.. no non-related item/topic thou..

Terry Teh Hehe... Ya, y not? We live tis life only once.. But we can always re-live childhood life... Be b happy ya... :)

Ivan Slowee Ding.. I know you own both KTM & GSA, but hei cut some slack la.. you were once a non-biker to becoming one, an inexperience to becoming experience and questioning fellow bikers level skill and experience is uncalled for. There are bikers ...which are fast and slow most important is get there safe and enjoy. Dont need to be so mean!!

In short we are all here to have fun and enjoy each others company.

                             Peace bro and ride safe...

Ding See Hock If you all look at how this issue starts it all boils down to LWR, LWD, GS vs KTM. There is no personal malicious element but cut dry comment yes there is. Shortly, if one has no experience about something dont make sweeping statements abou...t which is better bikes and what is BAM enduro offroad in Siberia.

If you cant agree, state why so with facts, but refrain from calling me names. If you want to trade insult, lets get on it! LWR never did real BAM...they only did a fraction of it at Kolyma Highways (aka Road of Bones-which was only about 10% of BAM- Ikrukst to Magadan IIRC) that also they cant complete it on their own 2 wheels. Amazing how one can get sore over his lack of knowledge if one is truly interested in adventure biking.

And as for you Terry, I thought you were just being interested in neutrally diffused the tension but obviously I am wrong. If you look carefully at my phrased questions, I merely ask you have you really experienced real offroad with your GS & wading of river. If you have, you will know at any water level beyond 18", GS will drown. That is a technical question, nothing personal and never am I to say that you are a lousy biker or a poser (that I never say). And why am I asking you that is becos I am trying to impress on you that despite the common popularity of so-called best dual sport GS, it is actually more road inclined tourer which can do a bit of offroad but not real hard trails and most malaysian owners are just not aware of their machine. Calling a GS a real adventure bike is a misnomer. But nevertheless it is not my intention to belittle you.

And Ivan, I have never mention what machines I owe other than merely saying I love my GS despite its limitation and why must speed be a benchmark of knowledge anyway? I never mention about speed, craving corners etc which to me are rather immature thoughts for real world biking. But if you feel I am mean (which I am yes given the circumstances of this broiling issue) you should take a look at your friends' responses too and tell me if that too are nice or constructive? It's a 2 ways thing Ivan. But I have no quarrel with you and I am sorry if you are upset but please dont take side blindly.

And as for you Ah Fei, go read your books thoroughly and get your facts right before you start any public thread. If you cant agree with someone, dont resort to calling names and speak with an imbecilic parable. And I am merely criticising your lack of knowlegde in a specific motor sport adventures literature never once did I imply that you are sexually inadequate. Grow up, get yourself a real bike and ride on! You know that right hand side end of the handle bar, if you twist it a bit more, it will go faster too!
Ruby Yap am i reading email? lol
Ming Fea Dear My Friends' biker friend, a picture of some book posted on FB with a few of my own friends being tagged in it while inside jokes were shared amongst those being tagged is NOT a public thread (still don't understand why you are here and... my post concern you so much??).

Since wasting time and lurking in someone else post is what you like to do, please kindly refer back all the comment in this post - since when I once indicate that I know/criticize anything about biking/enduro sport/person?

If anyone misunderstood 'BAM' I mentioned :
BAM 1 & 2 = By Any Means Season 1 and 2 (Staring Charlie Boorman, i think it's currently show in Astro NatGeo now).

Once again, This is NOT a Thread nor Forum nor Debate of any topic/person/machine/sport/activity/anything. No trophy or award given to those who 'knows' more than others.

It's merely private jokes/chit-chat session amongst some friends about some books and videos...

Terry Teh Hehe... Now let's the party begin... Sponge Bob Square Pants!!! :p
Ming Fea Let's Sing - Sponge bob square pant, square pant, sponge bob square pant... la, la, la, la.. (help, forget lyric.. opppsss.. shouldn't start the song when one did not attend Nickelodeon slime award . . )

Ding See Hock I can still see this and wonder if FB is screwing things up. I have no intention to gate-crash any private discussions much less want to be labelled an intruder but if it's private chat, certainly I shouldnt be seeing this as I am not on yo...ur list of friends.

Nevertheless BAM (Baikal-Amurskaya Magistral) to me and millions other enduro bikers throughout the world, is the so-called holy grail of ultimate motorcycling trail.

                             Nothing personal merely facts.
